Weekly Road Construction Update - April 26 to May 2
Projects Administered by Deschutes County
South Century Drive/Huntington Road Intersection Improvement (La Pine Area) – Crews will be grading and working on roadway shoulders.
Traffic Information – The new roundabout will open to all traffic Monday, April 27. As work continues on the project, road users should expect intermittent lane closures facilitated by flaggers with delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours, 7 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Please use caution when navigating the new roundabout.
Tumalo Reservoir Road Improvement (Bend Area) – Crews will be doing excavation and grading work on Tumalo Reservoir Road between Tyler Road and Bailey Road.
Traffic Information –Tumalo Reservoir Road is closed between Tyler Road and Bailey Road through May 29. A signed detour route is in place for the duration of the closure. Access for local traffic will be maintained.
Road users should also anticipate single-lane closures on other segments of Tumalo Reservoir Road. The single-lane closures will be facilitated by flaggers with delays of up to 20 minutes during work hours, 7 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Projects Administered by Other Agencies
Deschutes County Driver Feedback Signs (Oregon Department of Transportation) – Crews will be installing dynamic speed feedback signs on the following County roads:
- Cline Falls Highway
- Old Bend-Redmond Highway
- South Canal Boulevard
- Powell Butte Highway
- Alfalfa Market Road
- South Century Drive
- Day Road
- Burgess Road
Traffic Information – Roadway shoulders will be closed during work hours. Road users should expect construction vehicles and equipment entering and exiting the roadway.

U.S. 97: Terrebonne (Oregon Department of Transportation) – Crews will be working on 11th Street and C Avenue.
Traffic Information – Beginning Monday, April 27, Lower Bridge Way, between NW 19th Street and U.S. 97 will be closed to traffic for roundabout construction. This closure expected remain in place through October.
Road users should follow a signed detour route along NW 19th Street and NW Davidson Way. Be advised that the speed limit on NW 19th Street is temporarily set at 45 MPH. 11th Street, between A Avenue and the south U.S. 97 intersection will open to traffic Monday, April 27.

Redmond Wetlands Complex (City of Redmond) – Crews will be installing sewer infrastructure on NW Pershall Way and NW Coyner Avenue.
Traffic Information – There will be a single-lane closures facilitated by a temporary traffic signal on NW Pershall Way. Road users should expect delays of up to 20 minutes.

Bear Creek Road Closure (City of Bend) – Bear Creek Road remains closed to traffic between Dantili Way and the irrigation canal crossing to the east.
Traffic Information – The full road closure, with signed detour will be in place through April.

China Hat Road & FS Road 1815 Closure (US Forest Service) – China Hat Road and Forest Service Road 1815 are both closed at the USFS Boundary for forest restoration work.
Traffic Information – China Hat Road and FS Road 1815 are closed to all traffic at the end of County maintenance. Access to the area is closed until further notice.
Other Road Impacts
Cascade Lakes Highway Closure – Cascade Lakes Highway is closed to traffic between Lava Lake and Mt. Bachelor. The Deschutes County Road Department is working to remove snow and open Cascade Lakes Highway in early May (weather dependent).
Paulina Lake Road Closure – Paulina Lake Road is closed to traffic east of the Ten Mile Sno-Park. The Deschutes County Road Department is working to remove snow and open Cascade Lakes Highway in early May (weather dependent).
